One of Google’s latest initiatives isn’t difficult to decipher – it’s called Google for Jobs. You guessed it – the search engine has launched its very own job feature.
Using machine learning, the new platform will filter opportunities acquired from an array of employment sites (such as LinkedIn and Glassdoor) to provide candidates with better job matches and more options.
The new feature will take certain job criteria into account, such as travel distance, and bring the candidate a number of opportunities that apply to them, even if listed under varying titles and descriptions.
Renowned companies such as FedEx and Johnson &Johnson have been testing the new feature. According to The Verge, Google CEO Sundar Pichai has reported an 18 percent increase when it comes to the amount of applications being made. It’s about to be rolled out across the US, so watch this space.
