It’s been a non-stop 12 months for all of us at Sensio AIR, and we’ve been reflecting on some of the company’s most memorable moments. We’ve not only been presented with some pretty amazing awards, but have also been recognised by some of the world’s most renowned publications.
Here, we look back at some of the milestones we met along the way.
Won Mass Challenge UK award
At the beginning of the year, Sensio AIR was awarded the 2017 MassChallenge UK prize. The accelerator selected six of the most promising start-ups with ground breaking ideas from its 2016 Mass Challenge UK accelerator programme, and Sensio AIR came out on top.
UNRWA can you make short sentences so people get the point without reading all the text? I’m afraid we’ll lose a few along the way ;)
Last year, Sensio AIR joined up with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). This collaboration was carried out at a number of refugee camps around Lebanon to monitor the air quality as part of the environmental health strategy upheld by the UN’s Field Infrastructure Camp Improvement Programme (FICIP). The findings meant we could provide UNRWA with suggestions and advice in terms of both urban planning and overall improved health.
Sensio AIR named Lebanon’s most successful start-up story
In June, we were fortunate enough to be named Lebanon’s most successful start-up story at the first ever Angels Lebanon event.
iOS app re-launch
In August, we launched the second, and more up-to-date (a bit obvious –maybe talk about the design?), version of the Sensio AIR app on the AppStore – download it now to log your symptoms, receive real-time air quality updates and request your very own personalised report.
Techcrunch Disrupt SF
Techcrunch San Francisco gave us the opportunity to jet to the states and showcase our tech to the American press. We were lucky to meet amazing startups and to plug in the Silicon Valley ecosystem (or something like this)
CES 2018
In November last year, we announced that our smart allergen and air quality tracker had won CES 2018’s Innovation Award in the ‘Tech for a Better World’ category. Judged by a panel of industrial designers, engineers and members of the trade media, Sensio AIR took home an award that was previously presented to the likes of HP, Lenovo and Dell.
Forbes, CNET, Reuters and more
The UK’s poor air quality has been a serious topic of discussion for some time, so we were thrilled to be chosen by the Evening Standard as one of the companies providing technology to fight the problem. After a successful showcase at CES 2018, we were also picked up by Forbes, CNET and Reuters to name just a few.
Android app launch
Android users rejoice! Our anticipated Sensio AIR Android app was launched at the end of the year it’s confusing because I don’t know which year we are talking about anymore :p, and is now available for download on Google Play. Try it, and let us know what you think!
Forbes ’30 Under 30’
In January this year, our very own CSO and Co-Founder Dr. Eve Tamraz Najjar was named a Forbes ‘30 under 30’ Europedisruptor for science and healthcare. The prestigious title is only presented to young individuals proving to be leaders in their industry, and Eve is definitely one of them. Aaaow thank you J
